OSU Extension is a dynamic educational entity that partners with individuals, families, communities, business and industry, and organizations to strengthen the lives of Ohioans.  OSU Extension offers educational resources in four major program areas.

Family and Consumer Sciences provides information on Childcare, Parenting, Family Life, Adult Development and Aging, Balancing Life, Jobs, Families and Health, Nutrition and Food Safety, Managing Money and Preparing for Retirement.  We also give leadership to the grant funded Family Nutrition Program that works with limited resource families to help them make their food resources stretch and provide healthy meals for their families.

4-H Youth Development provides programs that teach youth about leadership, citizenship and life skills.  Cloverbud program addresses children kindergarten through second grade.  Traditional 4-H programs reach youth third grade through 19 years of age.  Programs include clubs, camps, classroom and after-school programs, and community service opportunities.

Agricultural and Natural Resources educators help farmers, gardeners, landowners and businesses Strengthen their businesses, Adopt new technology, Improve efficiency while protecting the environment, Manage woodlands and Protect streams and watersheds.  In addition, we train Master Gardeners who in turn extend researched-based yard and garden information to Ohioans.  We work with the green industries, from turf grass management to landscape and nursery companies.

Community Development educators and specialists enhance communities by working with the Business community, Current and emerging community leaders and Elected and appointed officials.  We provide perspectives to residents and leaders regarding local development issues, increase the knowledge base for individual and community decisions, develop clientele skills necessary to help achieve their individual and community goals, and help create and inclusive decision-making environment.

Ohio State University Extension brings the knowledge of the university to your door. We fulfill the land-grant mission of Ohio State University by interpreting knowledge and research developed by the Ohio Agricultural Research and Development Center, Ohio State and other land-grant universities, so that Ohioans can use the scientifically based information to better their lives, businesses and communities.
