Community Meals: Hot, nutritious lunches are available in four community locations for citizens who are age 60 years or over. The suggested donation for a lunch is $2.50 but participants are encouraged to donate whatever amount they can afford to give. Transportation is available to all community meals sites for those who need it.

Mobile Meals: This service provides nutritious lunches every weekday to citizens, age 60 years or over, throughout Union County who can no longer cook for themselves or are unable to participate in our Community Meals program. Each meal is packed in a thermal tray, so it?s just the right temperature when it?s delivered to your home by one of our friendly volunteers. The suggested donation for a lunch is $4.65 but recipients are encouraged to donate whatever they can afford to give.

Home Health Care: If you are experiencing an illness or have just been released from the hospital, extended care facility or nursing home, the Memorial Home Health Care team is at your service. Our professional, compassionate staff provides nursing, physical and speech therapies, dietary services, personal care (bathing, dressing) and light housekeeping services. A nurse is on call 24 hours a day, seven days a week to assist you. Memorial Home Health Care accepts Medicare, Medicaid and most private insurances. Most insurance plans require a physician referral.

Emergency Care: Each patient is seen in a private treatment room with bedside registration, so you?re more comfortable and your privacy is protected. For the most severe circumstances, our emergency room is equipped with special rooms for trauma patients and victims of sexual assault. If there?s a life-flight emergency, we have a heated helipad on the ER roof for secure transport?even in the worst winter weather.

Urgent Care: Somewhere between the need for an emergency room and a regular doctor visit is the need for urgent care. We can do lab tests, X-rays and other diagnostic procedures, as well as treat you for minor injuries, aches and pains, colds, sore throats, upset stomach and a host of other problems. Our Urgent Care Center is especially helpful when you need medical attention after hours or if you don?t have a family physician. Plus, a visit here may require a lower co-payment than an emergency room visit.

Advance Directives & Living Wills: Make sure you can be heard when you can no longer speak for yourself. Advance directives give you the opportunity to appoint someone to oversee your healthcare decisions when you no longer can. Make sure your medical care will be properly taken care of when you can no longer direct it yourself.

New Parents Classes: From preparing for the birth of a child to identifying a baby?s needs, Memorial Hospital offers classes such as breastfeeding, childbirth education, and infant care to help guide new parents.

Cancer Support Group: No one should ever have to face cancer alone. Facilitator Nancy Smith, M.S. in Counseling and a Licensed Professional Counselor, helps address many of the issues confronting those who live day to day with cancer. Men and women with any type of cancer diagnosis are welcomed. Refreshments will be available. The goal for the group is to restore hope, fight feelings of isolation, and regain a sense of control. The cancer support group meets the first and third Wednesday of every month from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm in Memorial Hospital?s Women Health Center Classroom (lower level of the Miracle Life Center).

Diabetes Support Group: Led by Memorial Hospital?s Diabetes Education Department, this support group provides individuals the opportunity to discuss, ask questions, and share experiences relevant to the condition. The group meets on the second Wednesday of each month from 11:00 am to 12:00 pm in the hospital cafeteria?s Village and Civic rooms.

Parish Nurse & Health Ministries: Bridge the gap between medicine and theology by helping local churches establish a Health and Wellness Ministry for their congregation. Health bulletin boards, health fairs, and screenings for high blood pressure and diabetes are a few examples of outreach within churches. Programs are often conducted on topics addressing the physical, mental and spiritual health of a congregation.

Direct Access: Offers 25 different lab tests and screens that don?t require an order from a physician. Results are read by professionals and are available within 24 hours. Tests and screens include but are not limited to
Hgb A1c and mircoalbumin for diabetes treatment follow up
Cholesterol, triglyceride, and HDL for heart disease risk
PSA screening for prostate cancer
TSH for monitoring thyroid functionality
Fecal occult blood screen for colon cancer
Basic screening: sodium, potassium, glucose, creatinine, chloride, and COČ levels
Lab test prices range from $7.50 to $26.00 and may be a more affordable option for patients with or without insurance.

The Gables at Green Pastures: Managed by and under the direction of Memorial Hospital, The Gables offers
Long and short-term rehabilitation offers additional professional care or rehabilitation to these individuals discharged from the hospital so they can return to their normal lifestyles. Others need daily medical attention that must be administered by clinical personnel.
Long-term care for those who are typically able to perform many activities of day-to-day life, but are unable to live totally on their own. Our caring staff is sensitive to the needs of these individuals and does everything possible to help them live with dignity in a supervised, home-like environment.
Special care for those coping with Alzheimer?s disease and other forms of dementia. We offer the loving care and secure facilities your loved one needs to live in comfort and safety.

Patient Navigator: Memorial Hospital hosts the American Cancer Society?s Patient Navigator on Tuesday of every week. Linking cancer patients to local, state, and national resources, a Patient Navigator helps patients and their families navigate their way through the cancer journey. Securing financial assistance, finding transportation to appointments, and working with insurance providers are just a few of the many ways a Patient Navigator can provide assistance.

Free Mammography: Memorial Hospital is a grant recipient of the Susan G. Komen Foundation. The grant allows Memorial Hospital to provide approximately 115 free mammograms a year for underinsured and uninsured local women. Women who receive free mammograms are eligible when meeting certain criteria.

Speech and Hearing: Memorial Hospital's speech therapists provide evaluation and treatment of patients with speech disorders caused by stroke, progressive neurologic disorders, head injury, delays in speech and language development in children, and developmental disorders.
Patients with voice disorders caused by abusing the voice, progressive neurologic disorders, psychogenic voice disorders, reflux laryngitis, head and neck cancer, viral infections, intubation and spontaneous vocal conditions from unknown causes are welcomed.
We also provide evaluation and treatment of patients with swallowing disorders caused by stroke, progressive neurologic disorders, dementia, head and neck cancer and laryngectomy.
