Services:
Loss or denial of governmental benefits including OWF, food stamps, medicaid, medicare, Social Security, SSI and unemployment compensation cases. We handle evictions, foreclosures, lockouts, utility shutoffs, divorces, domestic violence, custody, visitation problems, consumer problems, garnishments, attachments, certain bankruptcies, wills and power of attorney for senior citizens.
Eligibility:
Generally, potential clients must have income below 125% of the current official Federal Poverty Guideline or be at least 60 years old. The best way to find out if you are eligible for services is to call our office.
Additional Information:
The Legal Aid Society provides legal assistance in civil cases to low-income individuals who cannot afford to hire an attorney. We do not handle criminal cases or where you would have a right to an appointed attorney.
